My father, Jordan Hugg was born on June 19, 1979. He had a wonderful soul and funny, loving personality. He had amazing hugs that would just surround you and make you feel so loved. Some of his favorite things were playing golf, eating wings, cheering for his alma mater,Penn State, being with his friends, dogs, watching football and most of all being with his family. He lived in Sweden for one year as an exchange student at the age of 16. He enrolled in the Navy and was assigned to work on nuclear subs. After the Navy he worked for the government. He had a very smart and persistent brain. He always knew how to lighten a room up and was able to connect with every person. My dad knew how to talk to certain people in different ways. My father was the glue of our family even as his addiction progressed. What we didn’t know was that at about age 16, my father started experimenting with alcohol and from there, his experiences escalated. He was so close yet so far in life. He had a loving family that raised him well. A mother and father, Jeanne and Rick, and his siblings, Eric and Rachel, loved him deeply. His wife, Vanessa Hugg, and children, Jaxon and me, cherished him. But unfortunately, the addiction caught up to him and derailed his life. He lost his wife, most of his friends, his job and the successes he was achieving in life because of his addiction to alcohol and other drugs. On November 21, 2020, my dad passed away from these addictions. He tried in-patient rehab four times, so I know he wanted to be better, but in the end he was not really able to commit to the path. I wish he had, so he could have lived to see me and Jaxon grow, feel our love and enjoy the successes of the people he loved and cared for. He is very much missed and his soul will never be forgotten. #JordansJourney4Life
